Common questions

Can I download these as blank PDF forms?

No — they aren't paper forms. Each one is a live inspection template: a technician fills it out on the mobile app, and Essential renders the finished report you see in the previews, with photos, deficiencies, and signatures placed automatically.

What are the California AES forms?

California Title 19 requires licensed fire protection companies to report inspections on state AES forms — AES 2.1 and 2.2 for wet-pipe sprinklers, AES 4 and 4.1 for private fire service mains, and AES 20, 21, and 22 for pre-engineered suppression systems. Essential ships them as ready-to-use templates.

My AHJ wants our existing report format. Can Essential match it?

Yes. The form builder behind these templates handles custom sections, per-asset checklists, pass/fail logic, photos, and signatures, and onboarding routinely recreates the exact report format a contractor already uses.

Are these all the templates Essential has?

No — these are the 17 curated, standards-referenced ones. The full catalog is larger, and any template can be copied and modified per customer, per property, or per AHJ.
